The guy who builds Rat Racks is simply awesome. Great customer service, custom design if necessary, and totally supports the bike scene in Alberta. An example of cottage industry skills making it happen. Go Rat Racks!
There are these things attached to our torso called "arms", and halfway down our "arms" are these things called "elbows". Elbows bend and straighten which allow us to control the amount of flex. For those of us who know how to use "arms" and "elbows", I really wonder if we need a standard to compensate for bar deflection. I agree with Rucker61.
somemorestuff - that is a sweet setup on your Faith there. Quick question - does your totem have a tapered steerer tube? If so, are you swapping out the bottom headset cup everytime you decide to run your 888's? I'm guessing your 888's have a 1 1/8" steer tube.
Thanks for the pic of Sorge's bike DARKSTAR63!
Thanks spaced, rzalewski6 and infiltrator for the replies!
You're right Infiltrator, I did some googling, and the a2c for a totem is 565mm and a boxxer is 568mm - essentially no change to the head angle. Been contemplating swapping out the Totem Solo Air for a Boxxer team - hoping for some better small bump compliance.
Ditto snoloco - I've got the medium 2010 Faith 0, and I'm around 37lbs with pedals. Love it.
Anyone have any experience running a double crown on their Faith? I saw some pics of Sorge at the last Rampage, and I think he had some green 888's. Curious how it would ride.
Woah - these kids have serious talent. That segment easily stacked up with anything in Seasons, and was better than probably 95% of the bike vids you pay for. The bar has been raised. Well done guys!
Get well soon Chris! Keep that positive attitude (just like in your photo) and you'll be healing up faster than you expected.
I would highly recommend trying out a regular Leatt and figure out if you need to the front and rear adjustability before shelling out the big bucks for this one. That's a lot of money to shell out for a brace that may not fit perfectly.
I have to agree with Cyberhawk on this one. There are way too many parts in mountain biking which are "solutions" to "problems" that don't really exist. Perfect example: 15mm thru axles - weight savings MINIMAL - especially when there was already a viable 20mm axle in existence.
142 mm hubs? No thanks - we've already got 150mm. The one good thing is that Trek set it up so that people can run 135's still.
One day, there will be a mountain bike category in between ALL MOUNTAIN and FREERIDE and we will be flogged with forks that have 17mm thru axles.
